Main objective
Establish a Forest Emission Reference Level (FREL) based on the historical average of emissions associated with gross deforestation in the period 2007–2015.
Specific objective
- Reduction of CO₂ emissions from deforestation to FREL 67,805.5 tCO₂-e per year.
- Apply FREL at a subnational scale, corresponding to the land component of SNAP (approx. 750,000 ha).
- Carbon reservoirs: above-ground biomass and below-ground biomass.

RESULTS

Public presentation of FREL | 2019
The FREL report was presented by the RSeT technical team on July 22, 2019, at IBAP headquarters. The audience consisted of IBAP and State Secretariat for the Environment officials. The presentation covered the data and methods used to obtain the results, as well as a description of the interaction with the evaluation team.
